Liquid argon tanks are vacuum-sealed spherical devices that keep argon in its liquid state for industrial works and commercial use. Due to the extreme cold and high pressurized confines of liquid argon, the tanks are made of strong materials able to withstand such conditions. The insulation on the tanks is extensive to avoid any heat transfer that would cause vaporization of the stored liquid. In cryogenics, the supercooled properties of liquid argon is useful in cooling and freezing processes. With respects to the medical field, they serve the purpose of transporting and storing cryogenic samples. Furthermore, the devices in question have valves and safety devices that control the release of liquid argon to avoid over-pressurization. Given the potentially hazardous conditions induced by exposure to the insides of the tank, liquid argon tanks require special handling and maintenance trainings.
